The beginning (2017)
Sensade began as a university project at Aalborg University, where our four founders met at the campus incubator. They shared a goal: to make parking data more reliable.
Key learnings (2020)
Our early projects taught us an important lesson: great parking systems need great engineering at every level. To ensure accuracy, reliability, and long-term performance, we chose to develop and control our core technology in-house. This decision has shaped our solutions ever since.
New sensor (2023)
After months of development, we launched our most advanced wireless parking sensor yet. It features dual detection combining radar and magnetometer technology, longer battery life, and improved range. Proudly designed and produced in Denmark.
Ceiling parking lamp (2024)
We introduced a ceiling-mounted parking indicator at Gulskogen Shopping Centre. With 75 units covering 798 spaces, each indicator can monitor up to 10 spaces. This reduces the amount of hardware needed and can cut energy consumption by up to 90% compared with traditional systems.
Airport debut (2025)
At Bergen Airport, we delivered a complete parking guidance system with 750 wireless sensors and 120 ceiling-mounted indicators. The system helps passengers find available spaces quickly. We completed the project in partnership with Bravida Norge and APCOA Norway.
Growing across Europe (2026)
What began with municipal pilot projects in Denmark has grown into installations at airports, shopping centres and mobility hubs across Europe. By 2026, Sensade has installed more than 13,000 sensors.
We develop both the hardware and software behind our parking solutions. This gives us control over how the system works as a whole and lets us adapt it to each location. From planning and installation to ongoing support, our team stays involved throughout the project.
